(This is just an intro for Sandman to read... to prove my rp-ing skills. I did this one in another rp I did sometime back. If anyone wants to reply, fee free I guess....) The great city of New York... home to millions... the destination place of many vacationers... and also the harlem for all sorts of crime by all sorts of people. This is Spiderman’s reason for existence... (aside from Mary Jane)... saving the lives of those who are unable to help themselves. Keeping this city in line is a major pre-occupation... and he loves every minute of it (no matter how much he complains). Peter sat crouched next to a gargoyle... staring down at his hand, making the semi rock-on sign that triggers something in his body to produce a fine thread, which is channeled through a network of vessels alongside his veins that travel to his wrist, so that the thread is sprayed at such a speed that it is actually "shot" out in the form of intricate finely-spun webbing. At least that's the theory that Peter came up with. He really didn't understand how his body worked... and maybe he never would. All he knew was the here-and-now. Whatever mechanisms his body used to create this super-human ability were being used for the good of mankind. I mean, if anyone else were to obtain power like this, they'd do the same thing, right? Peter's thoughts trailed off for a time... as he began to recall his wonderful day. It was the anniversary of he and Mary Jane. They had a picnic by the river... they went to see a movie... and he was finally able to give her a bouquet of flowers that she didn't refuse! The day was simple, and that's the best thing that either of them could ever ask for. The night was uneventful. So far, he only had to take down two measly muggers just down the lane... and aside from that, nothing. No disturbances... no sudden spider-sense tingling sensations... it was fine. Peter smiled to himself, knowing that his night-watch time would be over soon.... and he knew where he would be going tonight....

{{Hey Sandman, I hope you don't mind us playing for a bit. Sorry if we've overstepped any bounds.}}
Soaring through the canyon of skyscrapers, Harry's eyes searched relentlessly for any signs of his best friend, Peter Parker. His search earlier in the day had proven futile; he hadn't found either Mary Jane or Peter. He'd returned to the penthouse and wondered briefly if he should try to reach them by phone but quickly dismissed the thought. They have a right to find out I'm back face-to-face, not over a phone line.
Now having decided to give it another go at trying to find Peter, Harry rode aboard the Sky Stick and searched the glistening city. He'd been all over Manhattan this night, and like the night before, had found nothing. Maybe I should've taken Drakken up on his offer to help with the search he mused.
It was then that his modified goggles picked up a life-sign a ways away. He angled to it, hoping that perhaps it was Peter, for who else would be sitting on a roof top at this hour of night? The closer he got, the stronger the signal was until finally, the greenish feedback the goggles gave him was the unmistakable form of Spider-Man.
Beneath his mouthpiece, Harry's face broke into a wide grin. Gunning the Sky Stick forward, Harry moved to intercept Peter. His mind raced with all that he wanted to tell his friend: how sorry he was for the last couple of years, how he was confused and yes even scared as to why he was alive again, how he so badly wanted to make right all the wrongs he'd put MJ and Peter through and how much he wanted to start anew, fighting alongside Peter and using these devilish powers he had to do some good. He only hoped and prayed that Peter wouldn't freak upon seeing him again.
He slowed a few yards away and pulled up, hovering a close distance away from Peter. Touching the button on his wrist, Harry commanded the face mask to recede and stared at his friend. "Heya Pete. Long time no see."
{{By the way Liz, you'll find that it sometimes takes me awhile to put a response together. I try to hurry, but at the same time, I try to make sure it's the best I can do.}}

Peter's spider sense beckoned him to get out of his dream thoughts. It wasn't for potential danger... rather, it was just notification. Somewhat perplexed, he glanced up at the familiar figure before him. His eyes were thrown open wide in shock and his mouth gaped in disbelief... though this was not known thanks to his mask.
But... this was strange... Peter felt no threat... but the expression Harry held could be positive and negative. Still, he couldn't let go of the fact that they were friends. Best friends. More often, brothers. Is this.... a trick...? Peter confusedly questioned. If this was in fact some kind of ploy to 'squash the spider,' then this could be the end for Spider-Man... seeing that he was willing to test the waters.
Peter stood up, staring into Harry's eyes so as to catch any signs of deception... better keep it cool... he slyly thought. "Yeah... it's been awhile..." he replyed coyly.

At the sound of Peter's voice, Harry's lips formed a tight grin and he blinked rapidly, forcing back the wetness that threatened to spill over his cheeks. The events of the last 24 hours came rushing back to him and it was all he could do keep his composure. Panic, sadness and joy filled his heart all at the same time, and he slowly shook his head and whispered, "Oh Peter."
Signaling his glider forward, Harry landed lightly on the rooftop beside Peter. He stepped off the Sky Stick and turned to face his friend, "I'm sorry." Nothing else he could've said at that moment would've wrapped up his feelings more. Shame filled his soul as he gazed upon Peter, as he reflected on the sins he'd committed since the night he had used his father's formula. "Oh God I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm back. Why I'm alive. Not really. But I can't dismiss that there might have been some...a higher power to intervene."
Harry swallowed, wetting his dry mouth before continuing, "All I know is that I've been given a second chance. A second chance to make it right. I have to believe that I can do some good. I'm scared. Holy shit I'm scared. But I've got you...," Harry broke off and looked down at the filthy roof, "at least, I hope you'll be by my side. I know I have no right asking, but will you help me? Help me to figure this out?"
He looked back up at Peter, eyes glassy and waited to hear his friends response.
{{Sorry to disappoint, but I have to go to bed. This had been very fun and thank you. Feel free to post again and I'll get back to you later.}}

Peter, overcome with emotion, quickly pulled off his mask. He held an expression much like Harry's, ready to burst into happy tears of reunion. The ends of his lips were tempted to curve upward into a smile as he took deep breaths to hold back his tears.
He slowly began to shake his head in disbelief,"Harry... you're back..." He laughed some and a few tears managed to stream their way down his pinked cheeks. This couldn't be a trick... Harry really was there... flesh and blood.
Sexual orientation was no matter as Peter stepped up and threw his arms around his old friend, now struggling much harder to keep back a total breakdown.
(okay, it's been edited now that I know exactly what's going on around here)

{{Dammit I was going to hug you! You beat me to it }} Harry returned the embrace, hugging Peter fiercely. He too emitted a laughter of elation while a couple stray tears finally made their way down his face. For the first time since his coming back, Harry felt free of worry and doubt, and full of hope and faith. Everything's going to be okay now. Pete's going to help me through this.After a few moments, the two friends broke off their hug. Harry stood, his cheeks slightly wet and his mouth still turned up in a grin as he took in the sight of his friend. "It's good to be back Pete," he breathed, not knowing if Peter would grasp the double meaning of that statement.

(MUWAHA i rock. Lol. You'll have your chance next time.. ) Pete took a couple more deep breaths through his boyish smile to revive his composure. " I just.... " he began to slowly shake his head again, still in sheer disbelief,"... how did..." he turned away and over-looked the city. Now that the initial emotional part was over, it was (sadly) time to face reality and ask the tough questions. He let out a deep sigh of relief still shaking his head. It always troubled Pete when he didn't know exactly what to ask. Especially in a situation like this... defying the laws of life and death... nothing could explain it... but the questions never end. Peter looked over sincerely at Harry, being reminded of what exactly happened that led to this, "What happened Harry? How did you..?"

Smile slowly fading, Harry averted his eyes and gazed down sheepishly at his feet. He wished that this explanation could wait, that the two of them could bask in their joy for just a little while longer.
But their moment was over, and it was now time for more serious matters. Harry sighed, Will I ever get away from the pain of more serious matters? From the shame of what I've done? Harry knew the answer and with remorse in his eyes, Harry whispered, "I took that formula Peter, my father's formula. You probably guessed that already with me being strong and...and all. But I took it and...and it has...regenerative abilities."
Harry shifted his gaze back on his friend, looking for comfort. "I came back last night, Pete. I looked for you but...I couldn't find you."

Peter's smile also faded. He had forgotten all about Norman's formula... but was reminded of its consequences. How long would it be until Harry succumbs to the same fate as his father? That madness... something had to be done... but only with cooperation.
"Harry... we have to do something about that. Let me help you find a cure before..." he let his sentence trail off. He knew that Harry had come to terms with his father's death, but it was still a sensitive topic. And for Harry to be reminded could spark some old grudges.
Peter's mouth gaped open, wanting to continue, but only after Harry's reaction...

"Before I go crazy?" Harry finished for Peter, voice full of sorrow. "Yeah...I know. I just don't think...that there is a cure. If OsCorp while in its heyday couldn't figure it out..." Harry shook his head. "I just don't know."
Harry stopped, wondering if he should tell Peter about just how far gone his mind was. He was still hearing his father's voice, still seeing visions of what he knew was fake. But the hallucinations were so real...so lifelike. And the enticing voices and images were getting so hard to ignore. How much longer before I do lose my mind?
Figuring that Peter had a right to know, considering that they were attempting to turn over a new leaf in their relationship, Harry took a pained breath and divulged his biggest secret...and biggest humiliation, "I hear his voice, Pete. Not all the time, but I hear my father...see him too. I know it's just the gas...but it's so convincing. He...it...is still trying to get me to...," Harry grimaced, "to kill you Pete."
Harry looked hard into Peter's eyes, trying to convey all the feelings of regret and horror he felt, "I don't want to hurt you, or anyone else. Please Pete, if you think you can help, please do."

This was a lot to take it. Peter simply nodded in agreement, "I'll do whatever I can..." ... whatever can be done ... he thought. Peter had faced some challenges before, but this was above anything else. Suddenly, he looked out into the concrete jungle... and shortly after, police sirens wailed about. Peter gave a smirk while pulling his mask back on, "I gotta get back to work..." he turned and faced Harry, "...I'll see ya later?" he held a hand out for a friendly shake. (I figured out why it's hard for me to respond to you! I'm used to doing combat scenes and stuff... lol! But we can fastforward this. )

Harry smiled through clenched jaws, relief filling his heart at Peter’s promise to help. He extended his own gloved hand and shook Peter’s, “Thanks Pete. You have no idea how grateful I am.”
Glancing out at the city, Harry smirked and said coyly, “You know about your work…I can help with that. Granted I don’t have cool Spidey powers,” he shrugged his shoulders, “but as you’ve seen, I can hold my own.”
Stopping, Harry crossed his arms and looked at Peter hopefully. “Actually Pete, I’d like to help if that’s okay with you. I’d really like to do some good while I can.”

This one was quicker than usual! Two simple runaway burglars taken down in 28 seconds flat... a new record! Harry even got some cheering from the late night crowd... along with one bra thrown at his helmet... (oddly enough).
As they traveled through the city leaving the scene, noone would ever know how alive they felt. Performing small stunts along the way, trying to top one another, laughing and joking... just being the youthful souls they really were.
And finally, their destination......... the Osborn Penthouse!
