Unfortunately, it appears our admin, Sandman, is no longer with us. While Sandman’s initial rules are sufficient (and still very good rules to adhere too), Peter and I were talking about adding-on to that list with a few of our own. The following rules were conceived by both Peter and myself and the both of us agree that these should also be respected and obeyed.
1) Please be involved in only one thread at one time. Being involved in multiple threads messes up the game timeline and it’s hard to figure out when a certain thread happens in relation to another. Besides…it’s a pretty un-refutible law of physics that a human being can only be in one place at a time and to make gameplay as realistic as possible, adhere to this law.
2) Please limit your use of sexuality and cursing. The Spider-Man movies are rated PG-13, so when deciding how explicit to make your posts, think about what they do and do not allow in a PG-13 movie. Romance is fine, and so are less ear-tingling curses. But keep in mind that there’s a big difference between cutesy cuddling and a couple of “damns”, and an X-rated porno and saying the F-bomb every other word. If you feel that you just have to be profane—in one way or another—please continue roleplay in PMs. If you are unsure how explicit is too explicit, PM either Peter or I and ask.
3) Be sure to write at least a couple of paragraphs when posting IC. When writing, tell what your character is saying, thinking and what his physical actions are. Doing this will help you in writing more than just a one-liner as your response. Hey, sometimes one-liners are unavoidable…but those times should be few and far between.
4) If you’re going to be away with little-to-no access to the site for more than two days, please post an explanation for your absence in the pre-made "Absence Thread" in the Complaints/Suggestions/Questions Board. This is especially important if your character is involved in a thread. When you’re absent, you hold up the roleplay for everyone else. Hey…life happens (you have to study for a finale, you have to go visit your Cousin Billy Jo who lives in Outer Mongolia…etc.) but you should be courteous enough to let your fellow members know why you’re not posting.
5) If you apply for a canon character (a character from the movies/comics), then be loyal to that character and play him. If you are a canon and are inactive for two weeks (14 days) without prior notification of some kind, that canon will be put back up for grabs and someone else will be given the opportunity to play him. Canons are few, and if you’re not willing to do justice to one, then someone who is will be granted that privilege.
6) If you are applying for a comic book canon that we have not yet seen in the movies, then please write the character's History as if he only came into existence after SM3. Fill the app out like you normally would, but when you get to the History section, only tell us how he became the way he is and what his motives are. Do not write up a long detail of how the character and Spider-Man fought on numerous occasions and so on…because we have yet to see that character in the movies, and since this is a movieverse roleplay, that would not make sense. Write the character as if he was just…is created the right word…after SM3 and then you may continue to play him as you see fit.
To make the game more enjoyable for everyone, please abide by these rules. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask either Peter or myself.
Thank you! ;D
